The ZF CFT23 or Durashift CVT was produced at a plant in the USA from 2003 to 2010 and was installed only on the European version of the Ford Focus or a compact van based on it, the C-Max. This transmission was combined only with the 1.6-liter G8DA diesel engine.

The transmission was installed on:
- Ford C-Max 1 (C214) in 2003 – 2010;
- Ford Focus 2 (C307) in 2004 – 2010.
Disadvantages of the ZF CFT23 gearbox
- The reliability of this transmission is at an average level.
- Owners need to change the oil more often, because the gearbox cannot be repaired.
- The only thing you can buy and change are gaskets, filters and a Bosch belt.
