The ZF CFT23 or Durashift CVT was produced at a plant in the USA from 2003 to 2010 and was installed only on the European version of the Ford Focus or a compact van based on it, the C-Max. This transmission was combined only with the 1.6-liter G8DA diesel engine.

Disadvantages of the ZF CFT23 gearbox

  • The reliability of this transmission is at an average level.
  • Owners need to change the oil more often, because the gearbox cannot be repaired.
  • The only thing you can buy and change are gaskets, filters and a Bosch belt.
