The ZF 8DT-80 8-speed preselective automatic transmission has been produced at a plant in Germany since 2016 and is installed in the second-generation Porsche Panamera and the platform-sharing Bentley Continental 3. There are three versions: the rear-wheel drive 8DT80, the all-wheel drive 8DT80A, and the hybrid 8DT80APH.

- Bentley Continental GT 3 (3S) in 2018 – …
- Porsche Panamera 2 (971) in 2016 – 2024
Disadvantages of the ZF 8DT-80 gearbox
- This transmission hasn’t been around very long, so there aren’t any detailed breakdown statistics yet;
- In the early years of production, owners complained about jolts, but firmware updates have fixed this;
- If the transmission oil isn’t updated, the valve body will need to be cleaned at 100,000 km;
- With excessively aggressive driving, the clutches can wear out critically by 50,000 km;
- The high cost of a new transmission is also worth noting.
