PeugeotPeugeot is a French automobile manufacturer headquartered in Paris. The company was founded in 1810, with its automotive division established in 1896, making it the oldest automobile company in the world. Since 2021, it has been owned by the Stellantis corporation.

The name of the French hydromechanical automatic transmission consists of only three characters.

  • The second letter designates the series to which the automatic transmission belongs.
  • The third digit indicates the number of gears in the automatic transmission (the 4-speed AT8 is an exception).

Peugeot’s robotic transmissions have a proprietary naming system.
