Gearbox Peugeot EGS6

The Peugeot EGS6 6-speed robotic transmission was first introduced in 2006 and is installed in a number of PSA Group models with engines up to 2.0 liters and 270 Nm of torque. It is a single-clutch transmission with electrohydraulic control from MagnetiMarelli.

Disadvantages of the Peugeot EGS6 gearbox

  • This robotic transmission is very reliable, but only with regular maintenance and lubricant changes;
  • Also, monitor the level and don’t forget to refill the hydraulic transmission fluid;
  • Many problems with this transmission can be solved by reprogramming the control unit;
  • By 150,000 km, the front axle bearings may wear out and begin to hum;
  • Sensors often fail: selector position, release bearing, and shaft speed.
