Hyundai-KiaHyundai and Kia are Korean automakers that rank among the ten largest in the world. Together with their luxury car subsidiary Genesis, they form the Hyundai Motor Group.

Both brands offer vehicles in a variety of classes, from budget models to premium sedans and crossovers.

The Korean company’s gearbox index consists of five characters:

  • The first letter designates the transmission type: M for manual, A for automatic, and D for robotic.
  • The second digit indicates the number of gears: 4, 5, 6, and 8, respectively.
  • The third letter identifies the family to which the transmission belongs.
  • The fourth letter identifies the vehicle’s drivetrain: F for front-wheel drive and R for rear-wheel drive.
  • The fifth digit indicates the transmission’s position within its family.

Gearbox Hyundai-Kia A6MF2

Specifications Gear ratios Installed on Disadvantages The Hyundai A6MF2 or A6F27 6-speed automatic transmission has been produced since 2009 and is installed in many Hyundai models, but is most commonly known from the Creta, ix35, and Santa Fe crossovers. Hybrid versions of the automatic transmission are available under the designations A6MF2H and A6F28H.

This automatic transmission is installed in SsangYong vehicles under its own designation, the 6F24.
