The Hyundai A4CF0 4-speed automatic transmission was first introduced in 2007 and was designed for the Korean automaker’s most compact models, such as the i10 and Picanto. This transmission made it possible to completely eliminate the need for expensive Jatco automatic transmissions.
A4CF family: A4CF0, A4CF1, A4CF2.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai-Kia A4CF0 gearbox
- The automatic transmission has a reputation for being unreliable and rather finicky electrically;
- The most common failure points are the shaft speed and oil temperature sensors;
- In damp or cold weather, the automatic transmission may suddenly go into limp mode;
- Sharp starts or high-speed driving significantly reduce the life of the clutches;
- If forward and reverse shifts are abrupt, check the condition of the mounts.
