Disadvantages of the AW30-40LE gearbox
- This automatic transmission has a huge resource and breakdowns occur only at high mileage;
- Problems begin after the torque converter lock-up clutches wear out;
- Shaft vibrations break the oil pump bushing, and dirty oil clogs the solenoids;
- Electrically, speed sensors, selector lever positions and ECUs are often changed;
- The control cable may also break, replacing which is quite labor-intensive.
