The 8-speed automatic transmission Aisin TL-80SN or AWR8L55 has been produced in Japan since 2006 and is installed on the rear or all-wheel drive Toyota and Lexus models under the designations AA80E and AA80F. This automatic transmission was also installed on the third generation of the Cadillac CTS model with LFX and LGX units.

Disadvantages of the TL-80SN gearbox
- At first, on specialized forums they often complained about vibrations and jerks when switching;
- Several new firmwares were released and this helped the majority of owners;
- However, in some cases, only increasing the level of lubrication with adaptation helps;
- Other problems are standard and are associated with contamination of the valve body with wear products;
- If the torque converter clutch wears heavily, the oil pump bushing breaks and leaks appear.
