Disadvantages of the Toyota AA80E gearbox
- In the first years there were many complaints about jerky shifts and heavy vibrations;
- But the manufacturer released a series of firmware updates and these problems are no longer relevant;
- In some cases, however, only raising the oil level with subsequent adaptation helps;
- All the other problems of the gearbox are related to the valve body being clogged with wear debris;
- With heavy wear of the lockup clutch the oil pump bushing breaks and leaks begin.
