The Aisin AW03-70LS 4-speed automatic transmission was first introduced in 1983 and was initially installed in rear- and all-wheel-drive Toyota models as the A42DL. In some countries, the automatic transmission gained popularity as the transmission for the Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin.

Disadvantages of the Aisin AW03-70LS gearbox
- This automatic transmission has no weak points, and if it does break down, it’s only due to old age;
- The transmission arrives at the service center with a huge mileage and is immediately in need of a major overhaul.
