The Aisin AW50-40LN 4-speed automatic transmission was produced at a Japanese company from 1995 to 2010 and was installed in many Opel models, such as the Astra G, Vectra B, and Zafira, under the designations AF20 and AF22. This automatic transmission differs from the similar AW50-40LE in that it features an automatic neutral position.

Disadvantages of the Aisin AW50-40LN gearbox
- This is a reliable transmission, but in the early years, there were cases of antifreeze getting into the oil;
- And its main problems are related to contamination of the valve body with wear products;
- The presence of an automatic neutral position affects the life of the torque converter clutch, and owners often disable it;
- If the torque converter clutch is severely worn, vibrations can damage the oil pump bushing;
- Rarely, cracks in the Forward-Direct drum and brake band separation occur.
