Disadvantages of the Opel AF14 gearbox
- The transmission has a long service life, and even the torque converter clutch wears out around 250,000-300,000 km;
- Then the valve body will need to be flushed, or the solenoids will become clogged with wear debris;
- Then the oil pump bushing usually breaks, and leaks appear at the junction with the engine;
- Brake band separation and malfunctions in the automatic transmission selector are also common.
