The transmission was installed on:

  • Opel Astra G (T98) in 1998 – 2005
  • Opel Corsa C (X01) in 2000 – 2003
  • Opel Corsa D (S07) in 2006 – 2014
  • Opel Vectra B (J96) in 1999 – 2002

Disadvantages of the Opel AF13 II gearbox

  • This is a fairly reliable Japanese automatic transmission, and everything depends on the model and engine power;
  • On the Opel Corsa 1.4-liter, it lasts a long time, but on the Vectra 1.6-liter, naturally, it lasts less;
  • Around 200,000 to 250,000 km, the torque converter clutch wears out and its seal starts to leak;
  • A drop in oil level is very dangerous for the planetary gear, which is rather weak;
  • Also, the input and output speed sensors often fail in this series of transmissions.
