Disadvantages of the Ford 5MX65 gearbox
- This manual transmission is relatively new, and there’s very little information about it.
- Since it’s used with low-power naturally aspirated engines, it has a decent service life.
- And the problem of synchronizer wear typical of the MX65 series doesn’t occur.
- Watch out for oil leaks, as the oil sump capacity is quite small.
- Due to the low prevalence of this manual transmission, the choice of donors on the secondary market is limited.
