The Ford IB6 or Getrag 6MTT250 6-speed manual transmission has been produced since 2010 and is used in many models paired with the EcoBoost turbo engine and small-capacity diesel engines. This transmission is now gradually being replaced by a more powerful version, the B6 Plus.

Disadvantages of the Ford IB6 gearbox
- Despite its light weight and compact design, this is a very reliable manual transmission;
- The only issue is that due to the small amount of lubricant, this transmission is prone to leaks;
- All complaints about synchronizer noise and the like are caused by low oil levels;
- Worn out input shaft bearings or reverse gear failure are also common;
- Also, all transmission versions are equipped with a dual-mass flywheel, which isn’t the most durable.
