The Ford B6 Plus, or Getrag 6MTT331, 6-speed manual transmission has been in production since 2017 and is used in the Kuga and Focus, paired with the 1.5 EcoBoost turbocharged and 1.5 EcoBlue diesel engines. This transmission is essentially a beefed-up version of the well-known iB6 manual transmission.

Disadvantages of the Ford B6 Plus gearbox
- This is a relatively new transmission, and there’s very little information about its failures yet;
- The only weak point of the transmission so far is the front input shaft bearing;
- There are also complaints on specialized forums about the rapid wear of the first-gear synchronizers;
- It’s very important to monitor for oil leaks, as the oil sump capacity is small;
- These transmissions are also known for their dual-mass flywheel, which isn’t the most durable.
