Disadvantages of the ZF 8HP75 gearbox

  • This is a very reliable automatic transmission, but its service life is greatly reduced by aggressive driving.
  • As always, the main problem is contamination of the solenoids with wear products.
  • Dirty oil clogs the valve body valves and shocks appear when switching.
  • With frequent acceleration, the aluminum parts of the mechanical part of the gearbox cannot withstand.
  • Known weak automatic transmissions of this family are bushings and rubber gaskets.
