Disadvantages of the ZF 8HP65 gearbox

  • This is a reliable and durable gearbox, but it is often installed with very powerful engines.
  • With frequent and sudden acceleration, the solenoids become clogged with friction wear products.
  • Burnt clutches cause vibrations, and they break the oil pump bearing.
  • Aluminum pistons and drums often do not withstand overly aggressive driving.
  • All automatic transmissions in this line require regular updating of bushings and rubber gaskets.
