The Ford 6R140, or TorqShift 6, 6-speed automatic transmission has been assembled since 2010 and is installed in numerous Super Duty models, including the F250, F350, and F450. This automatic transmission is used with high-performance engines, including the 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel.

Disadvantages of the Ford 6R140 gearbox
- This is a robust transmission, but owners often chip the engine and install aftermarket wheels;
- And so, severe wear of the torque converter lockup clutch occurs even before 100,000 km;
- And then all this dirt scatters throughout the automatic transmission’s oil system, clogging the valve body;
- Additionally, aggressive chipping can cause the intermediate shaft and input shaft hub to crack;
- All other problems with this transmission are related, one way or another, to overheating.
