Disadvantages of the GM VT25E gearbox
- This CVT earned a bad reputation, and GM quickly abandoned it;
- The main complaints from owners are belt stretching even at low mileage;
- And if you skip belt replacement, the cones can be damaged, and you can’t buy new ones;
- After 150,000 km, you may experience a drop in oil pump performance;
- But the main problem with the transmission is the lack of proper service and spare parts.
