The 4-speed automatic transmission Aisin AW 03-72LS was first shown in 1987 and immediately became widespread not only in Toyota cars as A44DL and A44DF. In many markets, this automatic transmission is primarily known from Mitsubishi SUVs as the V4AW2.

Disadvantages of the AW30-40LE gearbox
- This is a very reliable gearbox and its problems are only related to natural wear and tear;
- The main thing is to renew the lubricant every 60,000 km and watch for strong leaks;
