The Aisin XA-11LN continuously variable transmission has been assembled at a Japanese plant since 2010 and is installed in the Daihatsu Boon and Thor, as well as similar Toyota models such as the Passo, Roomy, and Tank. This transmission is essentially a modification of the popular Toyota K411 transmission.
Aisin CVT: XA‑10LN, XA‑11LN, XA‑15LN, XB‑20LN.

The transmission was installed on:

- Daihatsu Thor 1 (M900) in 2016 – …;
- Subaru Trezia 1 (NCP120) in 2010 – 2016;
- Toyota Passo 2 (AC30) in 2010 – 2016;
- Toyota Roomy 1 (M900) in 2016 – …;
- Toyota Tank 1 (M900) in 2016 – 2020.
Disadvantages of the Aisin XA-11LN gearbox
- This CVT is installed on compact models with weak engines and lasts a long time;
- However, frequent and prolonged slippage can cause the bearings to start humming by 100,000 km;
- And if the transmission’s oil is changed infrequently, the valve body solenoids wear out quickly;
- Transmissions in this line are notorious for having less-than-durable drive seals;
- And if an oil leak isn’t noticed, the transmission will quickly run out of lubrication and fail.
