Disadvantages of the Aisin XA-10LN gearbox

  • This transmission is installed on compact cars with weak engines and has a long service life;
  • However, frequent slippage can cause the bearings to start humming even before 100,000 km;
  • Furthermore, infrequent oil changes can cause the solenoids in the valve body to wear out quickly;
  • Transmissions of this family are also notorious for their short-lived drive seals;
  • And if a leak is missed, the CVT will quickly run out of lubrication and fail.
