Disadvantages of the Toyota A340F gearbox
- This is a reliable automatic transmission, but its service life depends entirely on how it is driven;
- On large vehicles with powerful engines the torque converter lockup clutch wears out quickly;
- Its wear debris then clogs the valve body and the gearbox starts jerking;
- Shaft vibrations appear next, and they destroy the oil pump bushing;
- All of this leads to leaks, and the planetary gearset does not tolerate a low oil level.
