The Toyota C50A MMT 5-speed robotic gearbox was produced from 2006 to 2009 and installed on the popular Corolla and Auris models with a 1.6-liter 1ZR-FE engine. The transmission with electromechanical actuators is designed for a torque of 160 Nm.
This series includes: C50A, C53A.

Disadvantages of the Toyota C50A gearbox
- The robot received negative reviews and quickly gave way to automatic transmission in many markets.
- The first control unit often malfunctioned and a recall campaign was carried out in 2009.
- The clutch caused the most problems; it failed after 50,000 km.
- Expensive electromechanical actuators were not particularly reliable.
