Disadvantages of the Chrysler 68RFE gearbox
- This is a very reliable automatic transmission with a huge safety margin;
- With infrequent oil changes, the solenoid block can become clogged within 100,000 km;
- Dirty oil contributes to rapid wear of the oil pump and rubberized cover;
- A drop in pressure leads to the burnout of the overdrive and underdrive clutches;
- Failures in the electronic control system are also relatively common in automatic transmissions.
