The Chrysler 65RFE 6-speed automatic transmission was produced only from 2011 to 2013 and was installed in the Dodge Durango, Ram, and Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7-liter HEMI engine. Essentially, this transmission is a heavily modified version of the 545RFE automatic transmission.

Using
The transmission was installed on:
- Dodge Durango 3 (WD) in 2011 – 2012;
- Dodge Ram 4 (DS) in 2011 – 2012;
- Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 (WK2) in 2011 – 2013.
Disadvantages of the Chrysler 65RFE gearbox
- This is a very rare, but quite reliable and durable automatic transmission;
- If the oil is not changed, the solenoid block will require cleaning by 100,000 km;
- Dirty lubricant also reduces the life of the oil pump and rubberized cover;
- Due to reduced oil pressure, the clutches in the Overdrive and Underdrive packages burn out;
- As with all automatic transmissions in this series, electronic control system failures are common.
