Disadvantages of the Mercedes AMG SpeedShift MCT 9 gearbox
- This transmission is relatively new, and there’s very little information about its failures;
- Most complaints on specialized forums are related to harsh shifting in certain modes;
- The problem of jerking in cold weather, a familiar one from previous transmissions, hasn’t yet been resolved;
- If you avoid overheating and regularly change the oil, this automatic transmission will last a long time;
- The clutch pack here has a decent lifespan, but the cost of replacement is not encouraging.
