The Chrysler 545RFE 5-speed automatic transmission was assembled in the United States from 2002 to 2011 and installed in rear- and all-wheel-drive models with engines up to the 6.4-liter HEMI. This transmission is best known as the automatic transmission in the second- and third-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Disadvantages of the Chrysler 545RFE gearbox
- This transmission is very reliable and durable, but only with regular oil changes;
- Dirty lubricant contributes to rapid wear of the oil pump, especially its cover;
- Due to reduced pressure, the clutches in the Overdrive and then Underdrive packs burn out;
- The solenoid block in the early years of production was weak, but a new one appeared in 2004;
- This automatic transmission is also notorious for frequent failures of the electronic control system.
