The Toyota C53A MMT 5-speed robotic gearbox was produced from 2004 to 2009 and was installed on models such as Auris, Corolla and Yaris in combination with a 1.4-liter 1ND-TV diesel engine. The transmission is equipped with electromechanical actuators and is designed for a torque of 200 Nm.
This series includes: C50A, C53A.

Disadvantages of the Toyota C53A gearbox
- The robot causes a lot of problems for its owners and often requires initialization.
- The most annoying thing is the glitches of the control unit, which can even break down.
- The clutch fails quite quickly, sometimes it only lasts for 50,000 km.
- Electromechanical robot actuators are very expensive, but do not last very long.
