Disadvantages of the Mazda EW6A-EL gearbox
- This transmission was developed in collaboration with Aisin and is highly reliable;
- With moderate driving and frequent lubricant changes, it can easily last up to 250,000 km;
- At 200,000 km, we recommend checking the heat exchanger and replacing it if it is clogged;
- However, rapid acceleration and slippage can quickly wear out the torque converter clutch;
- Then wear debris clogs the valve body solenoids, and the automatic transmission begins to struggle.
