Disadvantages of the Mazda CW6A-EL gearbox
- This automatic transmission was developed in collaboration with Aisin and is highly reliable;
- With moderate driving and regular oil changes, it can easily last up to 250,000 km;
- Around 200,000 km, the heat exchanger should be inspected and replaced if necessary;
- Aggressive driving or frequent slippage can cause the torque converter clutch to wear out quickly;
- This dirt then clogs the valve body solenoids, causing the transmission to start struggling.
