Disadvantages of the Mazda SJ6A-EL gearbox
- This is a strong automatic transmission, designed for much greater torque than in Mazda engines.
- However, owners of sports models are often prone to overly aggressive driving.
- Therefore, the gearbox oil quickly becomes contaminated with products from wear of the torque converter clutches.
- And dirty lubricant significantly reduces the life of the solenoids, so update it more often.
- If you drive with a heavily worn torque converter clutch, it will break the oil pump bushing.
