Using
The transmission was installed on:
- Lexus ES300 4 (XV30) in 2001 – 2003 (as AW95-50LS);
- Toyota Windom 3 (XV30) in 2001 – 2004.
Disadvantages of the Toyota U150E gearbox
- This is a very rare gearbox and finding a donor unit can be quite difficult;
- Otherwise all its main problems are typical of almost any automatic transmissions in the U-series;
- Under excessively active driving the valve body gets clogged with clutch wear debris;
- The planetary gearset may also fail to withstand frequent hard starts;
- The weak point of all automatic transmissions in the series is the support in the rear cover of the transmission;
- As its Teflon rings wear, the oil pressure in the system starts to drop;
- The clutch packs then simply start to burn from the excessively low pressure.
