Disadvantages of the Hyundai-Kia A5HF1 gearbox
- This is a very reliable automatic transmission, but its service life is highly dependent on operating conditions;
- For sedate drivers, these automatic transmissions last 200,000-250,000 km without any problems;
- Hard acceleration wears out the bushings, and then the vibrations destroy the oil pump;
- And abrupt starts and slippage can cause the planetary bearings to fall apart;
- And don’t forget to renew the transmission lubricant, otherwise wear debris will clog the valve body.
