Disadvantages of the Fiat C514 gearbox
- This is a weak gearbox and only works properly on the most compact models;
- The shaft and differential bearings have a very limited lifespan;
- First, a humming noise is heard, followed by a lubricant leak that dries out the crankcase;
- The differential itself is also not very reliable, so it’s best not to slip;
- Other weak points include short-lived synchronizers and reverse gear.
