The Fiat C510 5-speed manual transmission has been produced at the company’s factories since 1990 and is used in virtually the entire model range: Bravo, Idea, Panda, Punto, Palio, Tipo, and Doblo. This manual transmission was the basis for the popular Fiat Dualogic and Alfa Romeo Selespeed robotic transmissions.

Disadvantages of the Fiat C510 gearbox
- This is a fairly reliable manual transmission, but only when installed with engines up to 206 Nm;
- However, this manual transmission is often installed on high-performance Abarth versions with 250 Nm turbo engines;
- Such transmission modifications suffer from accelerated wear of the gear selection mechanism;
- Forums offer numerous different modifications to solve this problem;
- There are also many complaints about difficulties engaging reverse gear.
