Disadvantages of the Ford 10R140 gearbox
- This is a reliable automatic transmission, but owners often chip the engine and install aftermarket wheels;
- The majority of complaints relate to the torque converter, especially its stator;
- During vigorous driving, the valve body quickly becomes clogged with wear debris from the torque converter clutch;
- This debris then flies directly into the oil pump, significantly reducing its service life;
- The original stamped oil pan also often warps from overheating and leaks.
