Gearbox Ford 10R140

The Ford 10R140 10-speed automatic transmission, or TorqShift 10, has been in production since 2019 and is used in a variety of special-purpose vehicles and F250, F350, and F450 Super Duty pickups. This automatic transmission is designed for the 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel engine with 1,424 Nm of torque.

Disadvantages of the Ford 10R140 gearbox

  • This is a reliable automatic transmission, but owners often chip the engine and install aftermarket wheels;
  • The majority of complaints relate to the torque converter, especially its stator;
  • During vigorous driving, the valve body quickly becomes clogged with wear debris from the torque converter clutch;
  • This debris then flies directly into the oil pump, significantly reducing its service life;
  • The original stamped oil pan also often warps from overheating and leaks.
