Gearbox Peugeot ATN8

The Peugeot ATN8 or EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission has been assembled in Japan since 2017 and is installed in many popular front-wheel drive Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, and DS models. This transmission is a modification of the Aisin TG-80LS automatic transmission and is also known as the AWF8G30.

8-speed AT family: AMN8, ATN8.

Disadvantages of the Peugeot ATN8 gearbox

  • This is a reliable automatic transmission, and all its problems stem from a weak cooling system;
  • The tiny heat exchanger quickly becomes clogged with dirt, and the automatic transmission begins to overheat;
  • High temperatures destroy the Teflon rings, and the oil pressure drops;
  • Then the clutch packs begin to burn, then the drums become damaged, and so on;
  • And don’t forget to change the oil; the valve body is very sensitive to the cleanliness of the lubricant.
