Gearbox Peugeot AMN8

The Peugeot AMN8, or EAT8, 8-speed automatic transmission has been produced in Japan since 2017 and is installed in front-wheel drive Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, DS models with a 2.0 BlueHDi diesel engine. This transmission is essentially a modification of the Aisin TG-81SC and is also known as the AWF8G45.

Disadvantages of the Peugeot AMN8 gearbox

  • This automatic transmission is used with powerful diesel engines, and its torque converter clutch wears out quickly;
  • Then dirty grease clogs the valves in the valve body, and the transmission begins to struggle;
  • All remaining transmission problems are related in one way or another to its regular overheating;
  • The small heat exchanger becomes clogged by 100,000 km, and the lubricant temperature rises;
  • This reduces the lifespan of the Teflon rings, and then the pressure drops, causing the clutches to burn out.
