The Peugeot AT8 4-speed automatic transmission has been assembled at a plant in France since 2009 and is installed in many modern PSA models, most recently budget models. This transmission, like its Renault DP2 counterpart, is designed for engines with up to 200 Nm of torque.
Front-wheel drive 4-speed AT: AL4, AT8.

Disadvantages of the Peugeot AT8 gearbox
- Keep the heat exchanger clean, otherwise the automatic transmission will go into emergency mode;
- The most common failures in the transmission are the pressure control solenoids and the torque converter lockup solenoids;
- Next, the bushings wear out and the clutches wear out due to a drop in oil pressure;
- Friction dust then clogs the valve body and causes jerking during gear shifts.
