Gearbox ZF 8HP76

The 8-speed automatic transmission ZF 8HP76 has been produced by the German company since 2018 and is installed on rear- and all-wheel drive BMW models under its index GA8HP76X and GA8X76AZ. This gearbox is also installed on the most powerful versions of the Land Rover Defender in the L663 body.

Disadvantages of the ZF 8HP76 gearbox

  • As before, the service life of your gearbox will greatly depend on the operating mode.
  • During active driving, the solenoids quickly become clogged with friction wear products.
  • Frequent acceleration causes the aluminum parts of the mechanical part of the gearbox to burst.
  • The weak point of automatic transmissions of this family are bushings and rubber gaskets.
