Disadvantages of the ZF 9HP28 gearbox
- In the early years, cases of involuntary transition of the gearbox to neutral were recorded.
- Renew the lubricant more often or the solenoids will quickly become clogged with wear products.
- Due to the design features, the automatic transmission does not tolerate long driving at high engine speeds.
- The weak point of all automatic transmissions in this series are bushings and rubber gaskets.
