There was an 0CS version for front-wheel drive vehicles and an 0CX version for Quattro Ultra all-wheel drive.

Disadvantages of the VW ML402 gearbox
- There are many complaints on specialized forums about strong vibrations in the manual transmission version 0CX;
- Usually, changing the oil in the manual transmission or all-wheel drive system components helps;
- However, in some cases, the vibrations only disappear after a complete transmission overhaul.
