The Aisin TW-40 E 4-speed automatic transmission has been assembled in Japan since 1998, but was called A174 until 2003. The reference books highlight its modifications TW-40LE and TW-40LS. This transmission is designed for rear-wheel drive models with 120 Nm engines.

- Suzuki Jimny 3 (FJ) in 1998 – 2018.
Disadvantages of the TW-40E gearbox
- This gearbox is structurally simple, very reliable and unpretentious in maintenance;
- In case of critical wear of mechanical parts, it is easy and inexpensive to restore.
