The Jatco JF010E CVT, also known as the RE0F09A or RE0F09B, was assembled by the company from 2002 to 2017 and installed in several Nissan models equipped with powerful V6 engines. This transmission was also installed in the Renault Megane and Scenic with diesel engines.

In 2002, the first-generation Murano crossover debuted with a V6 engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This was the first attempt to equip a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a 334 Nm (248 lb-ft) engine. This transmission differed from its siblings in the lineup by the reinforced design of several components and a large gear-type oil pump with a central pinion engagement.
Otherwise, it is a fairly standard CVT with a Bosch push belt, torque converter, 14-valve valve body, 4 solenoids, and a stepper motor.

Disadvantages of the Jatco JF010E gearbox
- The most common problem is wear of the oil pump pressure relief valve. The valve’s coating wears off over time, dirt gets in, and it starts to jam. Currently, there are a number of aftermarket, high-quality replacements.
- During the first few years of production, the belt in this transmission often stretched to 50,000 km. Then, a reinforced version was introduced, along with less aggressive ECU firmware, and its lifespan increased significantly. However, belt replacement is still the most common repair.
- If you don’t change the oil for a long time, dirt will get into the bearings, causing them to hum loudly. Valves or solenoids in the valve body wear out for exactly the same reason. The stepper motor and electronic control unit are also considered weak points in the transmission.
