Using

The transmission was installed on:

  • Honda CR-V 1 (RD) in 1995 – 1998;
  • Honda Orthia 1 (EL) in 1996 – 1999;
  • Honda S-MX 1 (RH) in 1996 – 1999;
  • Honda Stepwgn 1 (RF) in 1996 – 1999.

Disadvantages of the Honda S4TA gearbox

  • If you change the oil and filter every 60,000 km, the automatic transmission will last up to 300,000 km;
  • Otherwise, dirty lubricant in the automatic transmission will quickly wear out the solenoids and valve body channels;
  • Also, don’t forget to replace the torque converter clutch every 200,000 km;
  • Otherwise, its wear products will clog all the oil channels and the transmission will fail;
  • Weak points of this transmission include the overrunning clutch and the selector position sensor.
