Disadvantages of the Honda B7VA gearbox

  • This is a fairly reliable transmission, but it is installed with powerful V6 power units;
  • With vigorous driving, the torque converter clutch wears out quickly, sometimes before 150,000 km;
  • Then dirt clogs the oil passages, filters, and screens, causing jerking and jerking;
  • Also, at mileage exceeding 150,000 km, wear of the shaft sealing rings is common;
  • This causes the oil pressure in the system to drop and the clutch packs to burn out.
