Disadvantages of the Mercedes AMG SpeedShift MCT 7 gearbox

  • In the early years, owners constantly complained about jerking and harsh shifting;
  • This transmission was also criticized for frequently switching to manual mode unintentionally;
  • However, after the 2011 update, the only problem remaining was jerking in cold weather;
  • And if you avoid overheating and change the oil regularly, this automatic transmission will last a long time;
  • The ZF clutch pack has a decent lifespan, but the replacement cost is not encouraging.
