The Honda MGPA 4-speed automatic transmission was produced at a Japanese plant from 1999 to 2003 and was installed in the Japanese version of the second-generation Odyssey, paired with the 2.3-liter F23A. The all-wheel-drive version of the model was equipped with a similar automatic transmission, designated MGRA.

Using
The transmission was installed on:
- Honda Odyssey 2 (RA6) in 1999 – 2003.
Disadvantages of the Honda MGPA gearbox
- If you change the oil and filter every 60,000 km, the automatic transmission will last 300,000 km or more;
- Impurities in the oil contribute to rapid wear of the solenoids and valve body channels;
- Remember to replace the torque converter clutch every 200,000 km;
- Otherwise, wear products will clog the oil channels and reduce lubrication pressure;
- The selector position sensor and overrunning clutch are also considered weak points in the transmission.
